Peter Murphy Sings to Jill

Well, Peter is coming here again, and I can't go for the same reason as last time: the tickets may be affordable, but the concert's too far away. He's fifty, and he's calling this The Retrospective Tour, so this may be, as they say, it. I can't believe I can't see him one last time. Yet I'm incredibly honoured that, of all the countries in Europe, Portugal and Poland are the only ones that he's touring. In America he's going everywhere, you lucky bastards.

This is a 0:27 seconds long video that made me smile, where you see Peter hugging a fan (thanks to Gregg g g g g for uploading this!)

That's sad it is too far for you to make it.

I wonder if it really will be the last tour though? You never know. I think the thrill of giving a performance is something very hard for a musician to put away. At least it seems to me.

I've heard people complain about musical artists that are still performing when supposedly "past their prime" (Madonna has come in for a lot of this lately, and of course The Rolling Stones for years and years now). It bothers me. Why complain about it? Is it because they are still making money at it? Or what?

(Sorry, ranted a little there!)

Now I have to go check and see if and when he is coming to L.A...

Yeah, ageism is so boring. I'm not digging Madonna's latest album, but it has nothing to do with her age. The Rolling Stones (at least judging by Scorsese's movie) are still rockin'.
